“All exploitive art should look like it’s been knocked up at 5am by some wasted bum who once had talent but is now seriously on the slide.”

The Bride Alla Prima

Elsa Lanchester was a bit of a wild child back in the 1930’s, the Asia Argento of her day so to speak, and she didn’t take crap from anybody. This must have put her at odds with the bombastic make up genius, Jack Pierce, who’d grown used to everyone taking his crap. Still, even though she bellyached through the 3 hours it took Jack to turn her into The Bride, she immersed herself into the part totally and just this one movie turned her into an icon for eternity.
