Whenever I’m asked to do a Peter Cushing cover for The Dark Side magazine I have a good bitch about it because they must have made me paint him twenty times. In fact the only person I’ve painted more than Peter is my wife and that’s because she’s most of the women in my illustrations. This time around though, I chose to paint ol’ Pete off my own back after I came across this old black and white still from Amicus Production’s ‘I Monster’.
I think this is a beautiful shot of the legendary actor and even though I prefer to create my own scenarios this one really can’t be beaten.
