Italian Horror

I’ve done about 40 DVD and Blu Ray covers for Italian horror films so this book cover should have been a doddle; but it flipping wasn’t! Firstly I painted in that chick on a stick from Cannibal Holocaust but the book’s editor, Allan Bryce, said she looked too erotic so I scraped her off and painted in the shark/zombie/topless girl scene from Zombie Flesh Eaters which also turned out to be too erotic! Obviously all those Suzi illustrations are affecting my more respectable jobs; not that I get many respectable jobs!

Anyway, I scraped that off as well and just kept the arm munching shark which turned out for the best as it left more room for Suspiria, Mask Of Satan, House By The Cemetery and the fat zombie and eye gouging scenes from Zombie Flesh Eaters. Yep, it’s been a pretty tough week’s work but hopefully this cover will sell shed loads of Brycie’s new Italian Horror opus and maybe even make me a few bob here!
