Frankenstein Monster Illona Massey

I referenced an old black and white still from Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman for this painting and you might be thinking ‘who the flip is that playing the monster?’
Well, that’s stuntman Gil Perkins. Bela Lugosi might have finally got around to playing the Frankenstein monster but the poor old bugger still couldn’t make it into the stills! Truth be told, Lugosi was a pretty lousy Frankenstein monster and his performance wasn’t helped by the fact he was told to play the creature blind. Sadly, nobody bothered to tell the audience so Bela looked a right chump staggering blindly about with his arms jutting out and crashing into all the scenery!
